Cardi B Slayed the Courts…She is the Drama

If there is someone who knows how to take control of a room and make everyone laugh in a serious situation, it’s Cardi B of course. With $23 million on the line, she showed up and showed out fashionably and unapologetically to the court. Having already served the most iconic looks from quite a few cases now, there are many to choose from. I’m here for the fashion right now so let’s get into some throwbacks.

Starting off strong, we are going back to her 2019 Blacked Out Feather fit. This was a look that would steal any show, she pulled up rocking an Adrienne Landau fur layered over a crisp white shirt, tailored black trousers, a sleek tie and of course with her “bloody shoes” to finish off the look. This avalanche of features gave us that bird has landed energy. I couldn’t help but think of a crow, symbolising many things, death, transformation, rebirth and playfulness like the smile on her face. Her cloak acted like her own judge robe and hat, only fabulous and fluffy. Maleficent vibes? Absolutely, embracing the dark feminine. Although she arrived with a sensible natural make up look, I feel like a red lip would have been the perfect daring touch. Either way she owned that appearance.

Next up, her Ginger in White look. A figure-hugging white dress, featuring a square neckline and flared long sleeves. This was a simple and snatched look. She paired this with her signature Louboutin heels in white on the bottom and ginger curls on top, elevating the whole look. It was giving angelic but with a hint of twist. She played with the clean girl aesthetic here with her cutting-edge French manicure and tinted shades.

Touching more on her white lookbook, we can’t forget the white fur showstopper. She took up space wearing an oversized white fur coat, a turtleneck midi length dress, chunky white shades and a killer red manicure. Yes, another white Louboutin made an appearance. We love a sustainable babe, I’m sure those shoes have seen the courts more than most! I’d laugh if they were all different pairs anyway, after all, that wouldn’t exactly hurt her pockets. What I enjoyed most about this look was ironically her hairdo. Nothing beats a – woman with a claw clip! Reclaiming control in a chic manner, this look expressed let me get this out of the way but make a statement whilst I’m here.

One appearance I can’t skip that felt hilariously Bardi coded was another fur moment. Buried under her round shades and a fur hat, she clutched on to her heavy brown luxurious fur coat and black and gold hardware Birkin bag, stepping in Duetvettinas. It must have been freezing outside, she did not unhand her coat for a moment! A more relaxed moment with undone hair and no makeup she looked like she has been extremely busy and just about made it because court is obviously a priority. Honestly, this look reminded me of the walk of shame or functioning with a hangover – tell me I’m lying! This time around, her furs and bags did all the talking.

Now lets talk suits. I am a sucker for a power suit, especially on a woman and Cardi B has worn them like a boss. In 2022 she wore a camel-toned three-piece with a waistcoat, satin blouse and scarf, court heels, and a silver Chanel bag.. A sneaky touch I loved was the leopard print lining in her suit jacket. This gave big CEO energy, a look I’d rock to my big girl business.

Then there was her polished white monochrome moment. A Jacquemus Ovalo blazer, tailored trousers, and the Louboutins. This in my opinion was her most crisp sophisticated look. Her bouncy black curls were a clean contrast. The white eye make up and brown shades showed us her and her team don’t miss a beat with the details.

I could really do this all day, but let’s move to her most recent looks. Her latest looks gave given us all the spots and frills. Starting with Giambattista Valli Fringe she contrasted a striking platinum blonde do and nude pumps, a playful balance. I enjoyed the fun focal points of this choice, I just don’t know which one to obsess over, the frills or the blonde? Both worked, but I secretly wonder how killer it would’ve looked in full black with a sharp pixie or another claw-clip moment

Finally, to close the courtroom runway, Cardi showed up in a cheeky polka-dot suit. Doubling down on patterns with Valentino’s full Supergran set, shirt included, she topped it off with glossy black Louboutins and my personal favourite detail, a jet-black claw clip. A confident finish to a historic run of courtroom slays.

Winning her case and serving a final warning to anyone trying her in court, Cardi proved the only thing she’s guilty of is delivering look after look — icy cold or flaming hot. A repeat offender in fashion crimes of the best kind! Love or hate Cardi B, you have to respect she knows how to bring the runway before the jury. Not hoping to see her in court again but it has been a victory witnessing her slay her way to freedom.
